The build up to STS in the Arc got me thinking back to May and why I picked him out on here for Guineas glory. Basically I knew J Oxx doesn't send horses to Britain for ne reason and must have fancied his chances.

A quick look at Saturdays card revealed a similar scenario and a French raider trained by R Collet. Again no mug with his horses. Saphresa won at a nice 25/1 (early price with Sky).

So just a reminder to sometimes ignore the form book and purely back the clever foreign trainers. Newmarket's Chapions Day often throws up a few examples particularly in the Champion Stakes itself.

Other ones to note:-
DK Weld anywhere abroad.
C Head at Newmarket (normally considers these Guineas material so note Special Day)
F Doumen at Kempton
C Von de Recke at Plumpton

Anyone any others?

Just a note that the French will make a raid on this weekends Champion Stakes and having won this many times in the past are worthy of your consideration.

Never on Sunday has been laid out for this and at 6/1 represents much better value than the likes of Fame & Glory.

So Never on Sunday was very dissappointing but Ashlande later on the card made up for that with an 11/2 win.
