He's only 31 yet has been injured so much this is not a surprise to any of us.

Originally it was his batting that got him into themix for selection, yet it has more often than not, been his bowling which has turned games for England.

With the advent of T20 I feel he could still be performing in England colours for a long time yet, but as with other notable England players (Tresco, Vaughan in particular) the stress of the constant treadmill of international cricket is taking it's toll.

Such a shame and such a character. I guess its better than him being crippled. Sensible decision for him, although a big loss for England.

watch out for KP's niggling toe injury.....

that would secure him £1m a season in the IPL as well....
