Dunfie

Fair play fella you were spot on and I was off the pace!

It was a great performance by Kauto Star, but once again the race was set up for him and what a clueless set of riding from just about every other jockey in the race, other than those on Team Nicholls!

Madison Du Berlais - appalling ride from Scudamore, why did he not attack Neptune early and make it a strong test

Barber Shop - Did Geraughty really think he could beat Kauto for toe!

Exotic Dancer - probably the worst ride I have ever seen McCoy give a horse. Tried to give Kauto 20 lengths start in a slow run race, it was a horror of a ride..............

The race was a jog and until these numpty jockeys engage their brain cells, then its not impossible to see Kauto winning another 3 gold cups, cos the race at present is just a 4 furlong sprint at the end of 3m 2f of plodding.

All being well next year Imperial Commander and Mr Brennan will be there and they at least will ensure it is a properly run race.

One final thought if I was Hales, the owner of Neptune, I would have it out of Nicholls yard on the next carriage cos the horse only ran to set the race up for Kauto. Remember all the ooh agh about Team O'Brien this summer, well its getting the same with Nicholls, they only wanted Kauto to win and made sure he did..................with a bit of help from 13 other idiot jockeys!!!!

Exotic Dancer is always ridden like that. That is how he runs best.

And Kauto's times for both wins compares very well to the last 10 years of times probably some of the quickest considering the ground.

2009 - 6.44.95 G/S
2008 - 6.47.80 G/S
2007 - 6.40.20 G/S
2006 - 6.31.70 G
2005 - 6.42.90 G
2004 - 6.42.50 G
2003 - 6.39.10 G
2002 - 6.49.90 G
2000 - 6.30.30 G/F
1999 - 6.41.90 G/S

Bobby, the reason why O'Brien runs them is to ensure a true run race, what happened on Friday was the opposite.

And I agree totally about what you said, if I owned Denman or Neptune they'd be gone out of that yard until Kauto was retired.

Fluber

I totally agree with you mate, I was simply making the analogy that O'Brien gets lumps of stick and Nicholls appears to get away with it!

Also if that ground was good to soft on Friday I am lead dancer with the Chippendales.............it was good ground and therefore the time translates as slow!

Fluber is spot on we will only get a decent gold cup to watch if Imperial Commander improves or Cooldine is the real deal, cos otherwise Nicholls will keep ensuring his beloved Kauto keeps on racking up EASY gold cups!!!

Guys, I have also been anti Nicholls and in the belief that Kauto is not the star everyone makes out, yet the manner of the victory, was impressive, and the time is competitve (if a little slow tbh) but his jumping was immaculate and there were plenty with chances at the top of the hill, if good enough. Denman is the only real challeneger we can expect for the star next year as he is the only one that can take kauto out of his comfort zone as seen last year. I really hope we get both there at top fitness next year.

Have just been looking at the prices for next year anyway and Cooldine (best price 9s), Imperial Commander (20s) and Big Bucks (25s) are the possibles to threaten the incredible duo, yet have to improve somewhat before serious consideration can be given.

So you know more than every jockey riding there, and also the Clark of the course?

You missed your calling in life, get yourself down there for the job.

remember when comparing times that Kauto wasn't even pushed out on Friday. Had Ruby needed to go a few seconds quicker he easily could have.
