Came across this while browsing, personally i don't remember him (that must be a good thing). Does anyone remember him? or dare i say remember backing him?

Poor ol' Quixall

I think we should give the 'Quixall Crossett' trophy/award to those who finish bottom of the tipping leagues (as a gesture to remember the terrible performances of this horse)?

When suffering his 100th defeat

"Quixall Crossett was last before being pulled up...16-years-old, had lost all of his 99 previous starts, clocked up a century of defeats.
Quixall Crossett holds the European record for his sequence of defeats - but has still become a cult with his own fan club and website.
Quixall, was a 66-1 chance, cheered his supporters by being judged the best turned-out horse before the race ( hey, not bad there then! wouldnt be the first time a good looker hasnt performed!)

Among the fans cheering him was a female racegoer with a special Quixall Crossett scarf bearing the mauve, blue and white colours of his jockey's silks (very worrying that).

Losing run
Run: 100 times
Won: 0
Second: 2 (were these 2 horse races?)
Third: 6
Fourth: 12
Fifth or worse: 48
Pulled up: 19
Unseated rider: 7
Fell: 5
Brought down: 1

And the horse did manage to complete more than a circuit in the Ropewalk Chambers Maiden Chase (Div 2), outlasting two of the 13-strong field who were early fallers.

Quixall was trained by farmer 'Ted Caine', of Chop Gate, near Middlesbrough.
The horse was born on the Caine farm and had been racing since he was five years old.
He was named after former Manchester United player Albert Quixall ( xlol thats the funniest thing of all, named after a Man U player - love that!  xlol ).

Despite not winning, Quixall Crossett has earned £8,000 in place money over the years. (em thats in over 11 years of racing!).

"...He didn't travel very well at all..." said Quixall Crossett's jockey Nick Kent;
Trainer Caine could not hide his disappointment with his 100th loss;".....He did not get among them at the start, and I think he might have lost a bit of interest..."
"....He just wasn't able to keep up today and he wasn't enjoying himself - so the jockey did right to pull him up....."

Q? How many more races did he run?
Q? Really hope he hasn't passed away, must could that be possible, he's be 23 now?
