Typical
Had no chance to put any bets on Saturday and had to rush my selections for the Weekend Tipping comp, so when I sat down to watch the Channel 4 racing on Monday night I tried to pick a horse per race for interest. It was all going well with no winners until the penultimate race on Channel 4 when I went with Flake and he won at 9/1. Slightly frustrating but with only one winner my returns would have been minimal. Suffice to say I then selected Eric's Charm in the final race and he won at 8/1!!

Mick Kinane retires
Legendary jockey Mick Kinane has announced his retirement after arguably his best season ever. And therefore bows out on a high after his 6 Group1's with Sea the Stars

Famous for partnering such famous horses as Galileo, Montjeu and George Washington he says on retiring that STS was the best and without compare.

The X Factor
I think Joe is the certain winner now. Not sung one bum not yet. Beautiful quality to his voice. Olly is till my personal favourite, and love Stacy.
Russian Trigger
Midlands National winner was sadly destroyed at Sandown today. Pulled up very suddenly before the fence in the London National, he was found to have a broken fetlock.
Back Among Friends
Jim Old's horse has met a tragic end. Dropped Mark Bradburne in the paddock, bolted, hit a rail and then a lorry and had to be put down.
Walkon out for the season
Alan King has confirmed that Walkon is unlikely to be seen this season after an injury he sustained when winning at Aintree.

‘‘He’s out for the season but he’s back in light exercise,’’ said King.

‘‘He suffered a serious injury when he won at Liverpool, he cut into his tendon.

‘‘You can’t rush these things.

We are going to scan him again at the end of this month but it’s 99 per cent certain you won’t see him again until next year.

‘‘I think looking at the form, last year’s ju ...
Denman
Interesting that Nicolls this morning was convinced that Kauto would of done exactly the same as Denman did last week. Wets the appetite even more.
Saturdays Tips
Small fields but top notch racing.

Can't see why Well Chief is such a big price with no Master Minded. Agree with Paul Nicholls and Clive Smith on the morning line, would of been very interesting if he had turned Kauto out for this.
