Hi
I'm looking for any video's of this horse winning the 1971 midlands grand national. Mr Caudwell who was the owner at the time will be celebrating his 92nd birthday soon and would love to see footage of this horse racing.

Hi - I've come across this site while trawling the internet & reading old newspaper articles about two of my old bosses - the brilliant W A Stephenson & G W Richards. Well done to Kauto Star, Ruby Walsh and Paul Nicholls! :D A little bit sad that Dessies record has been overtaken but Kauto is a grand horse. Thought Long Run ran a gallant race in second as well.

A P McCoy has spoken about this horse's demise in his autobiography. Rock Noir was turned out in his paddock and when his lad went to bring him in, he found the field empty. Whilst searching for the horse, Rock Noir was found dead in a ditch with a broken neck. On doing an autopsy, a huge lump was found in the horse's neck and the poor horse was riddled with cancer, so he wouldnt have had much longer to live anyway by the sounds of it.

Just that I've finally discovered what the instrumental piece of music is that the BBC have used for the Grand National coverage over the years and it has been bugging me for ages.

Sadly smart hurdler Mille Chief has been put down after breaking a leg on the gallops. He was 5.

Hi all I know nothing about racing other than I own an 8yr old TB gelding by Snurge! My only experience of racing is a few times as Ascot which I loved the horses more than the hats! Since owning my boy I have been looking into his breeding detailed on his passport and find it thrilling that he has such famous parents!
