'The Sun' are reporting that Sulaiman Al-Fahim will assume control of Pompey 'within the next 2 weeks' and that talks are ongoing with Roberto Mancini re him taking the managers job.
Other reports say that Sunderland have bid £11 million for Crouchie. Surely, Pompey will aceept this won't they??
Well done, old girl, I think a few people had their doubts about this takeover (including my good self for quite a time) but you were always convinced it would go through.
I actually think Paul Hart is quite a good choice to take the club forward. Did a decent enough job in the latter part of the season and knows the game inside out. Will Brian Kidd, another sage of the sport, be staying on and assisting him???
Meanwhile does this mean that big Crouchie will stay?? Or big funds will be made available to buy players??
I believe the whole management structure will stay the same for stability. Hart did a fantastic job keeping up after Harry screwed us over several times, demoralising the club and players. The players like Hart. As I understand it there should be 50m available to strengthen the club, Benjani is one who has expressed to rejoin us.
I hope the Nationals (mainly The Sun) will crawl back into their holes now with their absolute rubbish. They would be lucky if there isn't a lawsuit in the offing for defamation of character. The snobbery that has been shown towards Pompey has been disgusting, but then the media has hated it since we got promoted for some reason. Expect its because they think we are not worthy, with our ground etc.
Spoke with the Business Editor of Arabian Business today. He has lined up a full telephone interview with Al Fahim at the end of this week, where he will outline plans for the club. He is extremely confident all is due to be finished very soon. As he interviews Al Fahim regulary, he knows him very well. Al Fahim is currently in London finalising the last bits and pieces and remain there till its done.
The rumour here is that the deal will go through Friday. Hence why he is giving the interview and also why Pompey are being so open and vocal now. Peter Stprrie has done alot of stuff for us today, including transfer targets.
Nugent will go, we want him out after the brawl he was involved in the other day. James I hope we don't need to take an offer for him. Think it would be a mistake to sell him, and especially after he expressed his loyalty to us at the start of the week.
