1. Kauto Star
2. Denman
3. Exotic Dancer

That is some 1-2-3, all 3 are exceptional horses, the winner is something else, that was a perfect display.

When you look at that field and the 1-2-3-4 you realise what a great crop we have for us to enjoy watching. I love Exotic Dancer its such a shame for him that he is the best horse OTHER than Kauto Star and Denman 2 of the best horses of all time. If he had been born 3 years earlier he could have won 2 gold cups.

My Will, Roll Along and Exotic Dancer all look good for the National, with My Will particularly well in on the weights.

Barbers Shop looks promising.

What an amazing performance. So pleased for the horse. Incredible display of brilliance against a very good field.

Special mention to Denman, what a superb performance in second. We are so lucky to have both horses around in our lifetime.

Why wasn't Denman ridden more vigoursly??? Every time he's won he's dominated the field so why change tactics now? I found it very strange, the Nicholls camp wanted one horse to win

I was VERY frustrated with Sam Thomas's ride on Denman, could have taken that away from everyone half way round second lap

You're right Matt, terrible ride, absolutely shocking! Christian Williams was just as bad, were they both riding to be Nicholls 2nd jockey next year? Either that or they are both mentally wrong!

He would of been told to ride Denman like that. It was clear they had no idea how he would go, so rode the horse for the best possible finish. Although he looked much better than Kempton, he still hasn't fully come in his coat.

Next year providing both horses make it will be the race of our lifetime. Although I feel they may train Denman for the National as he will be 10 next year, leaving it another year and being 11 could very well be against him. Plus they will want to give Kauto every opportunity of getting his 3rd. Will depend alot on how Cooldine does next year.

Just for interest and those that want to debate  -

2007 - race time  = 6m40.46s (good to soft) RPR 175 TS 144
2008 - race time  = 6m47.84s (good to soft) RPR 177 TS 173
2009 - race time  = 6m44.95s (good to soft) RPR 185 TS 169

Sectional (Lap times) would help further analysis but to me this does suggest that Kauto is better than Denman.
