The final major of the season tees off next Thursday.

I have looked at the course on the link below and its a long one!

http://www.hngc.com/TheCourse.aspx

Any thoughts on any players who could come into their own at this course?

I am afraid I will back the same two players i always do for majors regardless of the course.

Each way KJ Choi and a win on Sergio.

With the golfing world falling over to let Tiger win as many times as he can the 7/4 that is on offer does seem generous. Personally I hope lefty has a big week, he is the player that deserves the recognition, not Tiger, given he spends so much time before and after his rounds signing as many autographs as his can, and isn't seen wandering around the course muttering expletives to all and sundry.

Of the euro's I can only hope that Porridge is definitely back to form, but the initial 2 round pairing with Woods may be his undoing. Time is nigh for messrs Casey, Westwood, Poulter, Garcia to win one of these, but feel that Rory Mcilroy has the better all round game to actually win a major, yet this will be a massive ask on this fine course.

Will look more at the bigger prices today and select a few for y'all.

Am no great golf expert though I do like a good hack around my local courses from time to time.  Although I do find that hole where you have to get it underneath the rotating windmill blades very, very difficult.

In 'The Observer' at the weekend there was a tip for DJ Thahan as he fits the profile of many US winners of the event - steady pro with the potential to very occasional shoot 4 rounds capable of netting victory.  I note that 300/1 is readily available!

Myself I think Phil Mickelson looks reasonable at 28/1.

Done my usual two but, as with Open look for good value each yankees on the other markets:

1. Top Usa without Woods.
2. Top rest of world
3. Top GB and ireland
4. Top continetnatl europe.

OnlyOne I suspect you'll have a long wait for either of these two winning you a major.... think Sergio has missed too many chances.

Long course, par 72, there's only really one winner isn't there?
But I aint betting him at 11/8. Hope he has poor first round and the price expands a touch.
So each way I will be taking the following:

Sean O'Hair @ 100
Camillo Villegas @ 75
Angel Cabrera @ 66
Anthony Kim @ 55

Dunfie, I am beginning to think you are right but, I always said the late and truly great Payne Stewart had one more major in him and the 1999 US open proved me right, both emotionally and financially.

I feel if I don't back them, they would win. Tiger, if on blob wins, but is not any price. I too like the chances of Flopper Mickleson, but would not rule out anybody. The USPGA, more than the others, often throws up a surprise winner.

Don't get me wrong OnlyOne, I emotionally bet as well as anyone. Horses, golfers way past their best etc, I do it too. In fact to be brutally honest my OHair bet this year is only cos it would annoy me if he won and I wasn't on, rather than me having any inkling to him winning the championship.
I actually had a decent bet on Sergio going into the USPGA last year, as I felt everything was right for him. I just didn't count on his lack of bottle when it really really mattered.

As you say the USPGA is the most likely "shock winner" most years, but surely we've had it with Lucas Glover for this year.
For me 66/1 on Angel Cabrera, a big hitter who will love the long course, is in decent form and has proved he can win majors before is a great bet. As well as the win bet I will be going in at 15/1 for top 5 and 9/2 for top 10 aswell.
Villegas and Kim appeal to me as the type who could win a major, and if they're going to win one it will likely be at the USPGA.

But Woods will win  xmasgrin

This course is a beast, very long with some 600 yard par 5's where people such as Cabrerra and perhaps John Daly (is he in?) could make a claim for themselves.

Tiger is obvious choice, but the course that the weekend just gone was played at looks a damn sight easier than the one they're about to play. I wouldnt count out Padriag, he was outdone by the shot clock thing that was put in place.

Im inclined to pick the inform Hunter Mahan as well he has been there or there abouts near the top of the leaderboard in the last few televised tournaments that i've watched.

I've lost faith in Anthony Kim (thats gonna bite me in the a**) so i'll got for Lee Westood as well
