Hedgehunter 11-12 4/1jf
Lord Gyllene 11-12 4/1jf
Monty’s Pass 11-5 12/1
Numbersixvalverde 11-2 4/1jf
Bobbyjo 11-0 10/1
Bindaree 10-12 14/1
Silver Birch 10-10 16/1
Earth Summit 10-8 9/1
Papillon 10-6 16/1
Amberleigh House 10-3 20/1
Red Marauder 10-0 50/1

A fairly easy race to build, as you can use a direct line through Hedgehunter and Numbersixvalverde. The rest just fall into place. The SP over round is roughly 115%.

Who would be your choice and why?

p.s. Have had to leave Red Marauder off the poll as 10 options maximum. Who the hell would vote for him anyway?  xlol

I backed Red Maraurder E/W @ 33-1 that year! Is it monsoon conditions for this fictional running? If so then he's got a chance again!

In that case I'd have to take Earth Summit. Not too much weight. Only 3lbs more than when he won.

At the weights on good ground I'd take Papillon to win. I backed him at 33-1 to win the year he actually won it.
On soft ground I'd take Earth Summit at the weights.

Because he won by 25 lengths!  xlol

He absolutely murdered them, and you have to bear in mind that the handicapper raised him 18lbs for that victory. I've been a bit harsher and gone for 24lbs to get him levels with Hedgehunter.

No horse carries 11st 5lb or over to win the National, so forget Hedgehunter and Lord Gyllene!

I know what you mean, Thedrever, but those are 2 colossal animals with stunning form round Aintree. Wouldn't put it past either of them to win.
