TOP Australian sprinter Miss Andretti, the impressive winner of the 2007 King's Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, has delivered her first foal at Toolooganvale Stud in the Hunter Valley, Australia.
The new arrival, who was born September 1, is a chestnut colt by Darley shuttler Exceed And Excel.
Miss Andretti's managing owner Sean Buckley reported to The Age newspaper that the colt foal will be offered at the 2011 southern-hemisphere yearling sales.
He told the publication: "She was two weeks late so we were getting a little anxious, and then it was a difficult birth because the foal presented itself the wrong way around.
''They tell me he is a good size and has straight legs, and that both of them are fine so I'm really happy.''
A daughter of Royal Academy stallion Ihtiram, Miss Andretti was retired to the paddocks with a record of 19 wins – including fiveat the highest level – from 31 starts for earnings of A$2.8 million.
Her King's Stand Stakes victory came at the expense of runner-up Dandy Man, with her compatriots Magnus and Takeover Target filling third and fourth places.
